Description

wood and steel; hand made; rectangular block with two heavy handles shaped at ends along long axis; two irons cutting inside and at edge of hole; one is flat like a plane iron; curved convexly along its sharpened edge; the other an L shaped blade sharpened on both arms

History

This tool appears to be for tapering/shouldering axletree ends or something similar; the angled iron will cut mostly on the horizontal with the vertical part of the blade probably serving to prevent splitting.
