pump spout pattern: 2 parts; wood; threaded one end; square spout at right angles to long axis at the other; knob protruding from spout end, centered on main shaft; separation of (.01) & (.02) is horizontal, with pegs in (.02), sockets in (.01)
dull red paint
material missing from shoulder back of thread on (.02)

History

Henry E Chutterson, born May 31, 1845 and died May 28, 1925 was the owner of this item. He was a carpenter by trade; it is possible he framed barns; informant of donor told him that spouts for wooden pumps were usually bought from a foundry by the carpenter - perhaps earlier the carpenter had to cast his own spout (?)
