Description

one large steel tile with two United States flags crossed and "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" across the top

History

Used to mark the border between Canada and the United States in the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel, that runs underneath the Detroit River. The Tunnel was opened November 3, 1930. This tile was used to replace the original enamel tiles post 1967.
