History

Hair wreath was made by Sebrey Odette who later became Mrs. Raphael Bensette. She was raised in Anderdon township and lived in Windsor as an adult. She was a piano teacher. Sebrey Odette completed the picture when she was a young woman about 125 years before date of donation. She was mother of Edna L. (Bensette) Olsen who was mother of Ralph Olsen (donor) and grandmother of Gerald Wayne Olsen. Raphael Bensette, was founder of Bensette Jewelers on Wyandotte for years the oldest jewelry store in Windsor. Odette family came from Quebec in 1805. Mrs. Bensette was born in 1856 and died in 1929.
