History

Donor was born July 21, 1901 at Lincoln Rd. Walkerville. She was married in 1923 to John Harold Wigle who was born May 13th 1900. The shoes donated were worn by donor to a party when she was 16 or 17 (1917/18) at the King Edward Hotel with Bartlett, Macdonald and Gow stamped on them. (Bartlett, MacDonald and Gow was a department store on Oullette Ave. in Windsor which closed in 1972.) The donor enjoyed singing and made her debut in Detroit singing in the Metropolitan church at age 7. She also played the harp. One of her best friends was Margaret Bowlby, who was also involved in music in Windsor.
