History

The railroad arrived to Windsor in 1854 with the Great Western Railway (GWR) connecting Niagara Falls and Windsor. In 1882 the Great Western Railway amalgamated with the Grand Trunk Railway (GTR). This eventually would become part of the Canadian National Railway (CNR). Today VIA Rail trains travel along the same route first established in 1854.
