History

Crest of Windsor Lawn Bowling club, owned by donor's uncle. Windsor lawn bowling club (1900's) land between Church St. and Bruce ave.; Wyandotte and Eliott Sts. Mr Honor bought up most of shares known and gradually after another or more buyers bought it eventually was bought by City of Windsor and I believe it is a play ground. Surounded by homes. Entrance was off Church St. middle of block should be lots of pictures in archives of Star Paper. YMCW once shared tennis club with bowlers. They had upstairs in clubhouse and lawn bowlers downstairs. It was closed about the time that Jackson Park bowling Club opened nearly all the members owned shares. Donor's family were very involved in lawn bowling over the years and also at Jackson Park and Canadian Bridge Club on Walker Rd.
