History

The Eleanor McKenzie WMS (Women's Missionary Society) Auxiliary, July 1959. St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Windsor, Ontario had its beginnings in the 1840's, when worshippers gathered in a room above John McCrae's store. In 1857, a church and congregation was established at the corner of Victoria Ave and Park St. St. Andrew's founding members were: Alexander and Helen Bartlet; Mr. and Mrs. James Fisher; Elizabeth Browning; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Shoreland; John Webster; Archibald and Janet Napier, Mr. and Mrs. Archibald Brown; Mrs. MacLister; Mrs. MacEwan; Mr. and Mrs. John Davie; Mr. and Mrs. George Grant; Mr. and Mrs. William Sturgeon; Mr. and Mrs. David Johnston; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Page; Mr. and Mrs. David Haggert; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Haggert; Janet Haggert; George Duncan; William Bartlet; and Alexander Stuart. Due to declining numbers and fiscal issues, the church closed it's doors on August 31, 2016 and the congregation amalgamated with the University Community Church (on Wyandotte St. W) formerly Knox Presbyterian Church.
