History

These objects belonged to donor's grandfather, John Francis Hanlan, who is now deceased. He was a factory worker at Ford Motor Company and served for some time as a steward for the union. The objects were found in a box at donor's grandmother's house in 1993. Many of the items were used by donor's grandfather to propagate the union's cause to his co-workers. He believed strongly in the initial goals of the union and in later years was often perturbed by the way many workers abused the privileges that he had fought for.
