Description

Late 19th century Victorian Eastlake style rocker; wooden ornamentally carved; black cushion with floral design rear feet extend for balance; wheels on front legs

History

The donor, a long time Windsor resident inherited the furniture from her parents, who were originally from Quebec. Donor was 88 yrs old at time of donation, Garry Haggerty had power of attorney; donor was 12th of 14 children, she had no children of her own and no nieces or nephews; her father came from Ireland and died in 1916 (in his 50's) unsure of the origin of furniture; donor says wood comes from Lake Ontario region; age of furniture 1870's +/- 15 yrs.
