white cotton, with long sleeves, floral embroidery on yoke, cuffs, and front panel, gathered at shoulders, cuffs, and yoke, and pleated down the front, buttons entire length.

History

Nightgown belonged to Mrs. Ed (Jessie) Banwell. It was made in 1872 by her mother, Mrs. Robert Watson, the former Rebeca Collins. Ed Banwell was the grandson of Henry Banwell who settled here in the early 1830's. Mrs. Ed Banwell died in 1968, aged 83. Percy Banwell was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Banwell.
