Description

History

Made by Virginia Ducharme Morand of St. Joseph near Lake Huron. She was the wife of Moise Morand of Tecumseh who, in c.1884, bought property in Roseland, South Windsor, skirt is said to date1893. They lived in a log cabin at the present day Ducharme Street near Howard ave intersection. Later they built the homestead which was situated on Howard Ave. between Morand and Ducharme, streets which were given family names when the farm was subdivided. Virginia and Moise had four children: Alda (Rusette) died at age 75; Gilbert; Ferdine died in 1962 and Hon. Raymond D. Morand who died in 1951. Donor's mother was Alda Rusette (nee Morand).
