History

George Wells & Elizabeth Ure lived in Sandwich and had four children: Elizabeth, Bertha, William and Arthur. John Vickers Gray was born on May 29, 1870 in Sandwich to George Gray Jr. & Hannah Vollans. John and Elizabeth were married on June 30, 1896. John was involved in the construction business and in 1916 he started the John V. Gray Construction Co. Ltd. John and Elizabeth had two children: Dorothy Elizabeth & Margaret Helen (later Lawrence, the donor). John died on May 21, 1951.
