History

John Vickers Gray was born on May 29, 1870 in Sandwich to George Gray Jr. & Hannah Vollans. On June 30, 1896 he married Jane Elizabeth Wells, daughter of George Wells & Elizabeth Ure. John was involved in the construction business and in 1916 he started the John V. Gray Construction Co. Ltd. John and Elizabeth had two children: Dorothy Elizabeth & Margaret Helen (later Lawrence, the donor). John died on May 21, 1951.
