History

Gordon Watts Leggatt was born in Sorel, near Quebec. He was Judge of the County of Essex from the year 1860 until September 19, 1883, the day of his death. One of his sons, G.J. Leggatt, was a police magistrate of Windsor. Judge Leggatt is buried in the family plot of St. John's graveyard.
