Black and white photograph of Polly (Robinson) Leckie, wife of Mr. Gilbert Leckie; the legs, torso and head of Mrs. Leckie are visible in the photograph; she is seated with her body facing the camera and her head angled slightly to the left; she is wearing a dark, fitted, dress with pleats in the skirt and a jacket which buttons up the front; the high collar has ruffles at the top and she is wearing a small locket; Polly's left arm is leaning on a piece of fur; her hair is pulled behind her head and she has a number of curls on her forehead; the photographer's stamp and seal: "Barron & Walker Artists and Photographers, Sarnia, Ont." appear on the reverse of the photo, along with a hand written note which reads:

History

Mrs. Gilbert Leckie (nee Polly Robinson U.S.) Township Moore, Lambton, Co., Ont. 1858 - 1941. buried Sarnia. Maker of hooked spread and braided rug. Great grand niece of Admiral Sir Charles Douglas RN who raised the last seige of Quebec 17__. NB Arrived & Montgomery defeat."
