Description

View of the southeastern section of the Norwich Block, on Ouellette Ave. at Pitt St. W.; the first floor of the Kamin [formerly Laing] Building was home to The Beans Caffe coffee shop and deli; the second and third storeys of this building served as offices for barristers and private businesses.

History

Despite its unappealing modern facade, the Kamin [Laing] Building was one of downtown Windsor's oldest buildings, rebuilt two years after Windsor's 1871 fire. This photo was taken one week prior to the demolition of the block.
