Black and white photograph of the Hiram Walker Flat Iron Building, prior to ownership by the Walker Company; the building is a long, three-storey brick structure with rectangular and arched windows; the main floor has large doorways with large rectangular windows; handwritten beside the photograph: "Block of stores and Bank Office, To cost $24,000. In course of erection on Sandwich St. Property included in mortgage, 1892".

History

The Flat Iron Building was designed by Mason & Rice and was built in 1892. It was renovated by Hiram Walker & Sons in 1951 and used as office space for the company. The building was demolished in 1995 and an empty lot presently occupies the site.
