Black and white photograph of the Globe Furniture Company Ltd. in Walkerville; the company is a large, three storey brick building with arched windows; there is a small door on the right side of the building that leads to a wooden walkway; there is a square brick building to the right of the photograph and it may be conected to the large building at the back; there are building supplies leaning against the large building and a wooden walkway between the two buildings; "The Globe Furniture Co'y Limited" is handwritten beneath the photograph; the building was located on the triangular tract of land formed by the Grand Trunk and the Grand Trunk and the Lake Erie and Detroit River Railways.

History

The Globe Furniture Company manufactured and sold church, school and household furniture. F.H. Walker was the first president of the company in 1889. In 1910 the firm amalgamated with the Waterloo School and Office Furniture company and relocated to Waterloo, Ontario.
