Iver Johnson .38 safety automatic hammerless pistol; black handle with owl image; release latch on top of frame; serial D88078

History

Belonged to George Deneau (born in Amherstburg ca. 1879). At the time of Deneau's death in January 1926, from Pneumonia, he was Assistant Police Chief of the Riverside Police. He had also worked on the Ford City Police force. This pistol was his service weapon. Mr. Deneau was also very involved in Canadian minor league baseball, having been a player and manager with a number of teams in Ontario and Michigan between 1898-1915
