Bomb made into flower vase

History

Bombshell made into decoration, came with donor to Canada in 1954. According to the donor, this shell was shot during the First World War and was picked up by an artillery man on the battlefield of Mount Grappa. When he returned home, at the foot of the Mount, he adorned the shell and entrusted it to the donor's relatives so that it could be given to the man's fiancee upon his return from war. Unfortunately the soldier never returned.
