Description

Hotel Dieu "student" nurses uniform; made from cotton; uniform contained blue and white stripe dress with white bib and apron attached with a 2 way button clasp; the dress has been shortened from its original length.

History

According to donor, this uniform was obtained from a teacher, Majorie Mitchell, at Essex District High School in 1961. The donor, Kenlyn Bryant, was entering Nursing school but was unable to ever wear this uniform because the school changed the style of thier uniforms that year. The uniform was worn during the centennial parade of the hospital (Hotel Dieu).
