Description

World War II German 9 mm P.38 Luger; serial number 52591 located on the revolver's left side frame; small "s" located on the base of the safety lever; brown coloured handle; small imprinted numbers and symbols on the right side frame; slight wear on the handle and dirt in the crevasses of the revolver's frame and handle; metal trigger is slightly tarnished and discoloured; metallic wear and scratch on the right side of the frame; magazine clip is included with slight wear and tarnish;
slight tarnish on the top of the barrel near the rear sight.

History

Colonel Hodges was a veteran who had joined the Essex Scottish soon after the Dieppe Raid. He commanded the Essex Scottish through its amalgamation with the Kent regiment in 1954 and later became its honorary colonel.
