History

This metal trade ax head (a Hudson's Bay issued during the fur trade) was picked up on a known battlefield of the Ottawa (Pontiac) and Huron tribes in South Michigan about 12 miles west of the Detroit city limits and about 10 miles south of Chief Pontiac's headquarter camp near Pontiac, Michigan. There is an identifying totemic signature on each side of the blade. The original owner added his totemic emblem circa 1760-1790.
