History

Gunsmith: Thomas Nichol began working in Chatham sometime before 1857. By 1860, he was located on King Street opposite the market. In 1867, he received patent no. 2266 for a breech-loading rifle. By 1880, his son William had joined him in the business but this does not seem to have affected the firm name. From Oscar Grumb of Kingsville, Ontario Owned by M.D. Blair whose mark is on the gun
