History

It was said by the donor to have been brought from England by her great grandfather Robert Tunks who settled in the Bothwell region (Zone Twp, Kent County), and was probably made by him. Tunks a basketmaker moved to Bothwell Zone Township, Kent County when oil was discovered there. Bothwell's boom ended in 1867, when the field was drowned by salt water.
