Description

Rectangular; cream-coloured; address printed in black letters at upper left corner; flap opening at top with glue intact.

History

Used by Richard Henry Hopson (donor's grandfather). He is credited with the manufacture of American House animal sculptures and backgrounds. He was born in Detroit May 5, 1844, and married Catherine J. Flemming Oct. 12, 1868. His business was Plain and Ornamental Galvanized Iron Cornices, Dormer Windows, window and door caps, finials and tin roofing, patent fire proof sky lights- real estate investments. Purchased a block at Sixth and Howard built and moved. Purchased a lot at Commonwealth and Warren built a home. Church Tabernacle M.E. Church- a 33rd degree mason - Died De.c 21, 1921
