History

S&W Passenger railway/good for/five fares/Windsor & Court House/Good for one ride/Sandwich, Windsor/and/Amherstburg Ry. The Sandwich Windsor & Amherstburg Railway Co. was purchased by the Detroit United Railway in August 1901. The line to Amherstburg was opened in 1903, the line to Tecumseh was opened in 1907, the same year it began to carry mail between Windsor and Amherstburg. On April 1, 1920, it was taken over by the Hydro-Electric Power Commission of Ontario.
