Description

Silver metal food pushers. (988.48.9.1): Handle has quite a bit of decoration (raised circle and foliate pattern); handle widens and is rounded at end; engraved name on end (see Marks); pusher is bent downwards from handle; smooth and plain with scalloped sides and flat bottom; curved (concave). (988.48.9.2): Handle is decorated with scrollwork engraving; widens at end; end comes to a rounded point; engraved name and date on handle (see Marks); pusher is bent downwards from handle; smooth and plain with curved sides and flat bottom; flat (ie, not curved).

On envelope that they came in when donated: "2 Sterling Silver Pushers - used by small children about the turn of the century to assist them in learning to eat."
