Description

From a nurse's dress uniform (see also 981.12.1.2-.4); navy blue wool with red lining; machine sewn; cape is cut from one piece of cloth; stand-up collar; two belt-like pieces: one has one end sewn at inside shoulder; the other has a button on one end and a buttonhole on the other end; gold-coloured lion's head badges at either side of top front closure: one has a chain, the other has a hook.

History

Belonged to Marion Elliott (nee Gould), who was a nurse in France during World War I. Her husband, William J.B. Elliott, was a representative at Canadian Government Annuities,1566 Dougall Ave., Windsor.
