Cloche hat, c. 1920s; brown velvet; small bow at back; a rectangular metal brooch with paste yellow and clear "stones" is sewn down above the bow; narrow brim; beige satin lining has a machine-embroidered label in centre (see Marks).

History

Hat is possibly part of the going-away outfit of Mrs. Vida (O'Gorman) Lajeunesse after her wedding to Eugene Lajeunesse October 7, 1929, at Sacred Heart Church in LaSalle. Mrs. Lajeunesse was born October 10, 1902, in LaSalle. At the time of the donation she was residing at Riverview Hospital.
