Description

Set consists of clear soft plastic case; polish cloth; small brush and large brush; Cloth: pinked edge; medium weave; soft and flexible; Case: seamed on 3 sides; open on 4th side without closure; Small brush: round head; stiff bristles are densely placed; front and back of handle are depressed; decorative ribbing on back; handle is rounded at end and slightly curved; mould marks are evident; place of manufacture moulded into handle; Large brush: bristles secured to wooden painted base through round peg holes; bristles trimmed to even length; elongated rectangle with rounded ends; vinyl case attached to brush back with zipper closure; zipper's hinge reinforced with additional vinyl panel; elasticized band on interior of lid into which smaller brush may fit; top is gold stamped with names and date

History

From the estate of donor's mother, Marjorie L. Woods. Originally belonged to donor's father, Thomas Chester Woods, who was Manager of Shipping and Receiving at British American Brewery. Items were used by the donor's mother and father. Shoe kit was a present to donor's mother from the "Quarter Century Club" of which donor's father was a member.
