Description

Metal bus; painted red; five windows on each side (no glass); one window in front, one in back (no glass).

History

Belonged to donor's husband, Donald Grandchamp, who was born at 954 Lillian Street, Windsor. He married and lived in the same house, then moved next door to 958 in October 1956. These were his toys as a child. His mother worked at Hudson's as a seamstres and used to take him there to look at toys. His father (d.1942) Harvey Grandchamp was French. His grandparents lived on Elsmere and also spoke French - they may have been from Quebec. His mother was of Italian ancestry but was born in Canada.
