Description

Two-piece dress : bodice (.01) and skirt (.02). Pale gold-coloured silk taffeta lined with cotton, satin, and net; beige bows and fringes; Bodice: Close-fitting; high V-neck; hip-length; fully-lined; 3/4-length sleeves finished with a ruffle over knife pleats; fastens at front with buttons; side seams and bust darts are boned; piped pocket on left side; bow on back waist, fringed on sides; Skirt: A-line; small train with bustle; partially lined; fastens at back; decorated with 6 diagonal bands and a row of fringe; pocket at right side; piping, ruffles, knife pleats, box pleats, net and lace ruching at hem; 2 bows on front, one on bustle; 3 V-shaped piped and fringed bands at left front.

From the estate of Dorothy Graisbery Graham (nee d'Avignon), 567 Church Street, Windsor. She was born November 4, 1897 and married Percy Crichton Graham June 4, 1927. This dress is circa 1870-1890.
