Short sleeves; hooks and eyes at back; panels down skirt front and back; mock vest; bodice cotton lined; stays; slight train; bead fringe; multi-coloured satin inserts in sleeves; pink, gold and black bead embroidery; velvet embroidery; braid; tucks on bodice

History

The gown belonged originally to Mrs. Pachaud, whose husband, Gaspare Pachaud, was a Member of Parliament for Essex North, 1886-1890. She was born in 1860, died in 1935. He also established "Le Progres", one of the first french newspapers in southwestern Ontario.
