Description

hand-hewn oak; legs- 2 posts; flywheel spokes and hub and spindle parts lathe turned from a fine grained hard wood; flywheel 46" diameter; notched decoration around 4 edges at ends of bed; belt tensioning wood thumbscrew on spindle post and drive belt, both missing; spindle post pegged loosely to bed; peg missing from flywheel post beneath bed; scratched marks for location of parts visible on bed and inside of flywheel rim.

History

-given to G.F.Macdonald by Mr. and Mrs. Curtis J. Green of Birchlea, Kingsville, Ontario. A letter from Mrs. W. Leo King daughter of Mrs.C. King -Muriel G. King (Mrs. W. Leo King) notes at one time it belonged to the grandmother of the Wright girls who used to live on Sandwich st.,
