Description

Bob of pendulum of clock 988.49.1; metal; round with long loop on top; small protrusion on bottom (rating nut).

History

Goes with key 988.9.2, weights 988.49.3, and pendulum bob 988.49.4. Made between 1838 & 1850. This clock was the first item ever donated to the Museum, in 1947. It was rejected by the board and returned to the owner. In 1988, the owner's daughter Mrs. Joan Edwards of Flin Flon Manitoba contacted her nephew, the current owner of the clock and he, James Pickering, delivered the clock to the Museum. The Pickering's house was located across the street from the Francois Baby House.
