This wooden object has been inspected by several experts who have come up with these suggestions: Gaming bowl, aboriginal - RAD Conjecture; Maple Sugar bowl, Huron - Charles Meyers; Canoe bailer, Northwest Coast - National Museum of Canada; Top of box (handle missing), Haida - Arnold R. Pilling; Bucket for water wheel or pump used by pioneers or a pioneer soft soap dish - S.J. Gooding. William Noble, a professor at McMaster University, has identified the object as having Northwest Coast origins.
