Description

Wood box containing ship's log and parts, brass appliances; ship log records statute miles; box contains: log rotator, log line and weight, brass log register which has 3 black dials on the face (2 small and 1 large); a small lock protects the spedometer face; 1 spare weight (obloge shape); 2 glass spedometer shields; 7 brass screws; 4 log shoes made of brass; 4 metal tags use unknown; 2 brass tags use unknown; 1 can of Walker's soldified oil; and 3 S shaped metal hooks.

History

Came off SS Saskatoon C-S-L Steamship lines when ship was scrapped some 25-30years ago. It was found in store room of a ship, which donor believes travelled through the Great Lakes. May have been a spare for the ship, Walker's "Cherub III" Taffrail;
