Wood (could be black walnut, cherry or maple); Victorian Rococo style; black haircloth upholstery; three-seater; low, short arms; 3 back crestings; cabriole front legs; spring seat; casters on all legs.

History

Belonged to donor's great-grandmother, Isabella Wigle McCain Ouellette. She married Charles McCain c. 1852. After he died, she married Alexander Ouellette. After his death, she became the proprietress of Ouellette House, a hotel on the corner of Howard.
