Smith & Wesson revolver; black stock, blued trigger and trigger guard; nickel-plated; hard-rubber stock; stamped with maker's marks (see Marks); checkered; five-shot; front blade and rear notch sight; hammerless; centre fire; double action; .38 calibre; maker information on barrel (see Marks), including serial number.

History

Formerly owned by Amos B. Griffith, chief of police, Walkerville. The gun was held in safe-keeping at the Windsor Police Dept. after it was recovered following its theft from the donor's home.
