"Original owner - Mrs. Elizabeth Lanspeary. First Lanspeary to arrive in this district worked on the Great Western Railroad, built in 1854. He and his wife first arrived at Dundas, Ontario from Ireland, then followed the railroad west. Cape probably bought in Windsor or Detroit" - Mrs. H. J. Greenhow
