White cotton; many many tucks go around it; bottom edged with eyelet; top is gathered to a wide band of cotton; slit down from top has no fastenings.

History

Made for donor's father, who was born on a farm in LaSalle, c. 1878. (Donor was born in 1918 and she thinks her father was about 30 years old at that time.) It was probably made by a family member. This is a boy's smock, worn over clothing. No one is sure how it was worn.
