History

Believed to be a Huron tobacco pipe. "Tobacco pipes made of fired clay or polished stone were in common use. Shapes were variable and included elbow pipes, trumpet shapes, and vase-shaped pipes. The vase-shaped pipes were used with added stems of bone, reed, or wood. Clay pipes were often ornamented with incised lines and punctate impressions."
