Rounded face; narrow, oblong tapering at one end; biconical hole

History

A stone gorget Found on donor's property on Barry and Ottawa Streets in Tecumseh. Stone gorgets were items of adornment for First Peoples before the arrival of Europeans. In the 18th and 19th centuries Europeans and Indigenous people were trading silver and silver gorgets were popular as a symbol of distinction and esteem for Indigenous peoples.
