History: This is an excerpt from a note to donor's mother, Mrs. A.D. Bowlby, (from context) regarding a small mat to which are affixed samples of textiles. The one in the centre matches the bedspread. Quote: "The middle one is great-great-grandmother Paris'." This refers to Jane West of Westfield, Sussex, married 22 Feb., 1791 to Robert Paris of Ore, Hastings. Bedspread apparently reassmbled from a dress.
