Wide sloping rim; transfer print of maple leaves and beaver

History

Given to mother of donor about 1924. Was old at that time. The beaver and maple leaf, originally symbols of French Canada developed into Canadian national emblems during the 2nd half of the 19th century. The beaver was the most important animal in the fur trade.
