Cylindrical, 1.875" diameter hole; bark

History

Laid sometime between 1863 and 1890. Pipe laid from Hiram Walker's Distillery to Walker's cattle barns located at present day Metropolitan Hospital. Mash pumped through to barns then pipe flushed out and used for water. Wooden pipes discovered when new piping being laid; "Hundreds of feet - metal connections not rusted. System purchased from Walkerville at time of amalgamation, 1935. Info from Mr. J. Clark Keith, retired head of Windsor Utilities Commission, Dated Sept., 15, 1966
