Box, open one side; back curves to form top; post legs at front; straps at back; spit through centre; drive connectors either end; tow opposed grease scoops rotate with spit; grease through in box bottom; collector pan outside; pan and basting through above; two handles on slope of top; hinged access panel; white porcelain knob between handles; soldered, riveted

History

Formerly used in Willistead (Manor). Given by Mrs. E.C. Walker to Mr. Fox (father fo Charles E. Fox, 3407 Walker Rd.) who was a caretaker for the estate. Following Mr. Walker's death, Mrs. Walker moved to Washington, D.C. Given to Mr. Fox in 1917. Rotisserie was made by Viville, which is a small commune in France.
