History

This transom was removed from the 1820 St. John's Anglican Church on Sandwich St. West at Brock (now part of Windsor) when that structure was rebuilt in 1872 by George Gray and his brother, Thomas. During the War of 1812-14, St. John's was used by Kentucky Riflemen to stable their horses, and was burned by them in Sept. 1813. Charred wood and burned glass were still evident in the rebuilt 1820 structure when George Gray rebuilt the church in 1872.
